Celad Juvenil Cumbre a Complete Success!

(Latin America & Caribbean Youth Leadership Summit)

By Jamie Bello |  October 17, 2005

Youth leaders and pastors from 11 different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean met together for a network "Connection" Summit in Panama on October 3-7, 2005.  Jamie had the privilege of being a part of the director team for Celad Juvenil who brought all these leaders together with the purpose of seeing them Connect with God, Connect with each other, and Connect with young people in ministry in their individual countries.  Training workshops on the topics of "university outreach ministries", "teen ministries", and "youth pastors in the local church" were the highlight of the event.  Our workshop training team members were:  Gilbert Contreras (missionary to university students in Argentina), Mark Schaufler (youth evangelist), John Musacchio (missionary to youth in Guatemala), Jamie Bello (missionary to youth in the Dominican Republic) and our evening special speaker was Alex Chiang (youth pastor in Peru).  The youth leaders in attendance, many of whom are just beginning their adventure in youth ministries, were ecstatic in their praise of the caliber of teaching, motivation, and character of each of the invited speakers.  Everyone also enjoyed the opportunity to connect with each other and learn about the different cultures represented and the joys and challenges of youth ministry in each of their countries.  A HUGE THANKS goes out to Faith Family Church in Milton, Yelm Prairie Christian Center and Warm Beach Community Church for making it possible for Jamie to actually fly to Panama and be a part of this historic event.
